Identify Her is a ministry specifically orchestrated to build each woman to stand confidently in the uniqueness of who she is by design. There are many voices in our lives, telling us who we ought to be, what we ought to do, and how we should look to get the job, get the guy, get the life they say we should get. These voices include our industries, our culture, our families, our churches, our friends, our foes, God and even ourselves! No wonder so many of us feel lost, beaten down, conflicted and confused. How can we be the woman we were created to be if we can’t identify who she is anymore?
Identify Her is an evening where an ongoing conversation has been opened of what it means to be a woman of God in today’s world. Whether you are married or single, the Lord does not want you to hide or miss out on anything but to enjoy the abundance of the season you are in by allowing the calm, solid voice of the Lord to silence the din of confusion with His love and full acceptance of each of us where we are. Through an evening of fun, fellowship, creative teachings and a variety of interactive activities (from hip hop to body awareness to prayer) we continue the journey of unlocking the power of knowing the fullness of who you are in Christ: uniquely female, uniquely you.

A graduate of The Swedish Institute and a freelance dancer-turned-choreographer, Amanda brings to the field of massage and bodywork a practical and personal understanding of the body and how it functions. Her textured dance career has included garnering a B.A in Fine Arts from St. Olaf College (magna cum laude), sweating it out at The Ailey School, dancing with the Peridance Training Ensemble, Roddy Caravella’s Swing Ensemble and performing with St. Bart’s Players as well as the company of the Weathervane Theatre (favorite roles include Louise in Carousel and Anybodys in West Side Story) where she also choreographed and taught for their college accredited Intern Program. She has been the director of two NYC dance companies and has served as the Assistant Producer of Project Dance New York.
The complimentary combination of the disciplines of dance and massage as well as several years working alongside a team of physical therapists and chiropractors have given Amanda a particular sensitivity to the rigors and delicacy of working with and around injuries to facilitate the healing process. Through the techniques of Swedish, Sports, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Medical and general relaxation massage, her clients are enabled to be more at home in their bodies and enjoy the process of maintaining or returning to top form. To further aid this process, Amanda has founded The Movement Habit, which will be a blending of the disciplines of massage and dance into fun and functional anatomy courses and movement classes grounded in the belief that body and soul were made to move in freedom.
As a minister, Amanda has had the privilege of working alongside the founders of Alpha North America as a team leader and as an administrator and overseer of a flock of volunteers. She has also mentored many a dancer finding her way into the city, career and God. At TORCC she has been seen encouraging the congregation to share their testimonies of what the Lord has done, sharing a teaching here and there as well as facilitating prayer meetings and leading discussion on SOAP evenings. Identify Her is a particular ministry of interest for Amanda to draw from within each woman the true identity and priceless value Jesus has given each one of us in our various stages and phases of the journey called Life.
